The Reich Rocket Force supervised German space and missile forces in the years after the Race Invasion of Earth. Its first commander was Walter Dornberger.
In the 1950s and '60s, it flew routine orbital patrols in Earth orbit and landing missions to the Moon and Mars. In 1965, it sent the Hermann Göring into the asteroid belt. It attacked the Race's starships during the brief and disastrous Race-German War of 1965. This had the effect of disrupting all international space travel during this period.
Following the war, when Germany asked the Race for terms, one stipulation of the Treaty of Moscow was that the Reich Rocket Force be disbanded. However, Germany gradually redeveloped the force, concealing its existence from Race inspectors. In the late 20th century, the Reich Rocket Force was officially reestablished under the command of former German astronaut Johannes Drucker.
