The Red Sea (Arabic: البحر الأحمر Al Baḥr al aḥmar; Hebrew: Yam Soof ים סוף or Hayam Haadom הים האדום; Coptic: ⲫⲓⲟⲙ `ⲛϩⲁϩ Phiom Enhah or ⲫⲓⲟⲙ ̀ⲛϣⲁⲣⲓ Phiom ̀nšari; Tigrinya: ቀይሕ ባሕሪ Qeyih Bahri; Somali: Badda Cas) is a seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean, lying between Africa and Asia. Its connection to the ocean is in the south, through the Bab el Mandeb strait and the Gulf of Aden. To its north lie the Sinai Peninsula, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Gulf of Suez (leading to the Suez Canal). It is underlain by the Red Sea Rift, which is part of the Great Rift Valley.
Red Sea in "The Fake Pandemic"[]
On the advice of Martinus Paduei, Roman Emperor Justinian decided to drive on the Arabian Peninsula, using ships in the Red Sea to carry troops and supplies.[1]
When he visited Florence to meet with Paduei in 538, Tribonian confirmed that Justinian was following Paduei's advice.[2] Later, when Paduei warned Tribonian of the coming plague, he took care to confirm that Justinian was sending troops on ships to the Red Sea. He explained that their presence could also help stem the plague. Privately, Tribonian was surprised Martinus knew about this aspect of the plan, as he'd doubted many people in Ostrogothic Italy even knew the Red Sea existed.[3]
When Tribonian carried out Martinus' plan to halt the plague, he used Clysma as his headquarters as it was on the Red Sea; he'd initially gone to Pelusium, but that town had no access to the sea.[4]
Red Sea in Gunpowder Empire[]
The Red Sea was the source of Agrippan Rome's mother-of-pearl. Crosstime Traffic junior agent Amanda Solters claimed that her family shop's supply of mother-of-pearl came from that region, when making a sales pitch to Livia Plurabella of Polisso.[5]
