Tyrannosaurus was a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived in what is now the western border regions of the U.S. and Canada at the very end of the Cretaceous Period. The East Asian cousin Tarbosaurus is sometimes considered to be the same as Tyrannosaurus, but this is still debated. The species Tyrannosaurus rex, commonly abbreviated to T. rex, is one of the dinosaurs most often featured in popular culture around the world.
Rannos were the largest carnivores out West.[2] If one attacked a stagecoach, the best the passengers could do was to run off in separate directions and hope it went after the bigger drosaws since neither eight-shooters nor blunderbusses were effective against it.[3]
