Quintus Verus[1] was a citizen of the Ostrogothic Kingdom of Italy. In 538, on the orders of Martinus Paduei, he conducted the Roman quaestor Tribonian from Ancona to the capital of Florence.[2]
As they made the journey along the Via Aemilia, Quintus Verus explained certain of Martinus' innovations as Tribonian noticed them, including improvements in horse-reins, pivots on axles, and telegraphy. The journey took four days.[3]
