Pompey was the Negro manservant of Confederate Captain Jeb Stuart III during the Great War.[1] He was also a leading socialist and was very highly placed in the Red Rebellion which Confederate blacks carried out during the Great War. Jake Featherston suspected Pompey's role and reported him to Major Clarence Potter of Army of Northern Virginia intelligence. However Stuart's father intervened on Pompey's behalf, which allowed Pompey and his associates carried out their rebellion. Had Pompey been investigated, it is entirely possible that the rebellion never would have occurred, a fact that Potter made very clear to Stuart.
