Sir Philip Francis (22 October 1740 – 23 December 1818) was an Irish-born politician and pamphleteer. He served several terms in the British parliament. His reputation as a firebrand have lead many to suspect him of being the author of a series of letters by the writer known only as "Junius".
Sir Philip Francis was remembered as a radical into the 20th century. As an important figure in his day, Francis was depicted in the Thomas Gainsborough painting, The Two Georges.[1]
