Pavel Koniev was a merchant aboard the Flying Festoon during a mission to the T'Kai confederacy on planet L'Rau. When the Festoon crew was deputized to help fight off an attack by the M'Sak, Koniev proved to be surprisingly adept as weapons training, even though his human physiology did not match with the G'Bur weaponry. Army instructor N'Kor praised him for his abilities.
