"Not All Wolves" is a fantasy short story by Harry Turtledove, which originally appeared in Werewolves (Jane Yolen and Martin Greenberg, eds., Harper & Row, 1988) and was later reprinted in Departures (Del Rey, 1993) and New Magics, (Patrick Nielsen Hayden, ed., Tor, 2004).
It is set over one night in early 1176 in Cologne, and recounts the chase and close escape of Dieter, an adolescent orphan who had recently discovered he was a werewolf. Dieter is ultimately saved by Avram, who shelters the young Dieter in the town's Jewishquarter.
