New Eborac was a province in southern Detina. It was also one the southern provinces of Detina that stayed loyal to King Avram during the Detinan Civil War. It sent troops and material to fight the northerners. It was also home to New Eborac City, which was a great and prosperous city that was the largest city in the province and the entire kingdom.
Smitty was from this province which made communicating with Rollant, a blond serf who escaped to New Eborac, much easier. They were members of the 26th New Eborac Regiment.
Literary Comment[]
New Eborac Province is based on the State of New York. Eboracum was a town in Rome's Britannia province that later became the city of York, England. This city became the seat of power for the Dukes of York, one of whom was the sponsor and namesake of New York.
