Nesseref was a shuttle-pilot of the Race. She arrived on Tosev 3 with the Colonization Fleet in 1962, and was assigned to the Race colony of Poland. She took up residence in Lodz shortly after her arrival. Like the rest the colonists, Nesseref was disgusted that the Conquest Fleet had not completely dominated Tosev 3 in the initial invasion. Nonetheless, with time, she grew to see virtues in the native Tosevites, even becoming friends with Lodz resident Mordechai Anielewicz.

Nesseref was one of the few colonists that understood the true difficulties the Conquest Fleet faced. She came to sympathize with them, though this was frowned on by other members of the Colonization Fleet. She moved into one of the Race's newly constructed cities not far from Lodz, and bought a pet tsiongi whom she named Orbit. Anielewicz came with his son Heinrich, who found the Race fascinating, to visit her.

Following the Race-German War of 1965, Nesseref was contacted by Anielewicz to help search for his family, who had been kidnapped by slavers. She later transported German pilot Johannes Drucker, a prisoner aboard the 127th Emperor Hetto, back down to Earth at Nuremberg. Nesseref became an unwitting accomplice in smuggling Straha out of Los Angeles to Cairo, due to his learning of the United States government's role in the 1962 Attack on the Race's Colonization Fleet.

Nesseref returned to Home in 2031 aboard the Commodore Perry, along with Straha, so they could bear witness to the Race that the United States had indeed launched a Faster-Than-Light starship.
