Dr. Nathan "Nate" Greenbaum was a a professor at Yale and part of the time travel entity dubbed the Rippers. His wife Isis was from Jamaica. They had three children: Rose, Hannah, and Bertram. Nate's younger brother David was a Broadway actor of some success. Nate's daughter Rose was a fan of Broadway theatre. In 2079, in response to the loss of his husband Ramon Abarca, David Greenbaum was able to impersonate Nate, and head back to 1934.
Rose Greenbaum had been concerned about David's behavior in the months leading up to his trip to the past. However, her parents dismissed these behaviors as part of the grieving process.[1] On January 19, 2079, David, disguised as Nate. Rose, who'd discovered him before he left, went with him to help add credibility and lower the risk to all involved. David claimed he had a bomb with him, but Rose didn't believe him. After convincing a security guard named Joba and then the techs who operated the SlingShot, David went to March, 1934. However, Nate arrived not long after David and Rose. He encountered Joba, who was naturally confused. While the two hurried to the lab, they just missed David.[2] She also informed the group that David had brought a bag that he claimed contained a bomb. Out an abundance of caution, Nate ordered the lab evacuated.[3]
