Morrie Harris was New York agent of the FBS stationed in New Orleans. In 1942, during World War II, he partnered with Neil Michaels to break up a German-backed uprising in the former Confederacy. Unlike Michaels, Harris had no qualms about keeping the boot of the federal government on the neck of the rebellious South.
Harris aided Michaels with his knowledge of the city. When Michaels was put onto the scent of hearse-driver Colquit Reynolds, Harris called every mortuary in the city until they found him. Harris joined Michaels in tracking Reynolds down, and getting the exact location of a weapons cache which had been smuggled into New Orleans by the Nazis: the Girod Street Cemetery. Heavily armed Federal troops raided the cemetery, finding hundreds of guns in the mausoleums.
Harris and Michaels were both relieved that the uprising had been averted.
