The Mary Celeste, frequently misnamed in popular culture as the Marie Celeste, was a brigantine found in the Atlantic Ocean unmanned and under full sail heading towards the Strait of Gibraltar between Spain and Morocco in 1872. The fate of the crew continues to be the subject of much speculation, but the riddle remains unsolved.
