Mary Margaret Truman-Daniel (February 17, 1924 — January 29, 2008) was an American singer who later became a successful writer of mysteries and non-fiction. She was the only child of Harry Truman, the 33rd President of the United States, and his wife Bess.

Margaret Truman in The Hot War[]

Margaret Truman (1924-1952) and her mother Bess were killed by the atomic bomb the Soviet Union dropped on Washington, DC in May 1952. Both Margaret and her mother were in the White House at the time of the bombing, and it and the surrounding area was rendered a glassy wasteland.

President Harry Truman privately mourned their deaths while continuing to prosecute the war with renewed determination.[1]

Margaret Truman in The Man With the Iron Heart[]

At a 1947 speech in San Francisco, Diana McGraw exhorted her supporters to throw the Trumans out of the White House the following year. This included Margaret Truman and her piano.[2]
