The Magic 8-Ball is a plastic sphere, made to look like a billiards eight-ball, that is used for fortune-telling or seeking advice. It was invented in 1950 by Albert C. Carter and Abe Bookman, and is currently manufactured by Mattel. The user asks a yes–no question to the ball and then turns it over to reveal an answer in a window on the ball.
Magic 8-Ball in The Valley-Westside War[]
King Zev of the Valley owned a pair of Magic Eight Balls. He consulted the balls, which his people believed to have truly magical powers, before making any big decision, such as those relating to the Valley-Westside War of 2097. His method was to ask both balls the same question, and see how each one answered, a method which was understood to be Scientific.[1]
