Lorkis was the second son of Hogram. His elder brother, Hogram's eldest, had died before the war against the Omalo began, and when his nephew, Fralk, was killed, he found himself next in line to become domain-master. Unfortunately, he had never been trained for that position, and would require some time before he was ready to assume it. Given Hogram's age, it was time he might not have.
