Lippstadt is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is the largest town within the district of Soest.

Lippstadt in The Hot War[]

Early after the outbreak of World War III in 1951, the Soviet Red Army overran Lipstadt, West Germany. By the fall of 1951, NATO had halted the Soviet drive west, and were advancing east. In Lipstadt, a number of Russian troops seemed ready to make a final stand, until West German soldier Gustav Hozzel convinced them that, on soldiers' honor, they would not be killed. With that promise made, the large number of Russians surrendered, and were taken behind the lines to U.S. intelligence officers.[1]
