Lina Heydrich (14 June 1911 - 14 August 1985) was the wife of SS-ObergruppenführerReinhard Heydrich. A devout Nazi, Lina actively pushed her husband to take a position in the SS in the first place. She bore Heydrich four children before his assassination in 1942.
She survived World War II, and remarried in 1965. Nonetheless, she remained devoted to her first husband, defending him for the remainder of her life, and denying any knowledge on his part about the Holocaust.
As World War II turned against Germany, Reinhard Heydrich went underground in 1944 to prepare the post-war resistance. Lina Heydrich and their children fled to Spain, and never saw Reinhard again before he was killed in 1947.[1]
