
Lexington is an independent city Virginia, United States. Lexington is about 55 minutes east of the West Virginia border and is about 50 miles north of Roanoke, Virginia. It was first settled in 1777. It is home to Washington and Lee University (W&L) and the Virginia Military Institute (VMI).
Lexington in Southern Victory[]
Lexington's Washington University became the home of the Confederacy's superbomb program during the Second Great War. Consequently, throughout 1943, Lexington was bombed repeatedly by the US in effort to disrupt the project.
Virginia Military Institute was also located in Lexington.
