Lewiston is a city in north central Idaho and the county seat of Nez Perce County. It is the second-largest city in the northern Idaho region, behind Coeur d'Alene, and ninth-largest in the state. Lewiston is the principal city of the Lewiston, ID - Clarkston, WA Metropolitan Statistical Area, and is located east of Clarkston, Washington, across the Snake River. The cities were founded in 1862 and named for explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark.

Lewiston in The House of Daniel[]

In 1934, Lewiston was a nice little town not far from the Nez Perce reservation. The House of Daniel traveled there on July 8 to play their semipro them, the Indians, who had a reputation as a good team. The House won, 6-1.[1]

Lewiston in Worldwar[]

Jens Larssen stopped in Lewiston during his 1943 trip from Denver to Hanford. He stopped at a laundry run by Horace Chung, and mistakenly entered a brothel named "Mama's".[2]
