The Lalandos was a small river near the village of Abrostola. Its waters were critical to the farmers of the village. When a smith named Demetrios built a mill that took too much water, a farmer named Theodore invoked the Farmers' Law to force Demetrios to shut the mill down.[1] A year later, the frustrated Demetrios murdered Theodore.[2]
