Kurd von Schlözer (5 January 1822 - 13 May 1894) was a German historian and diplomat. He served as German ambassador to the United States from 1874-1881. He was then sent to the Vatican, and was instrumental in healing the breach between Germany and the papacy caused by the May Laws.

Kurd von Schlözer was the German ambassador to the United States around the period of the Second Mexican War.

Von Schlözer was committed to Chancellor Otto von Bismarck's foreign policy goals, especially the isolation of France, Germany's traditional enemy. To that end, von Schlözer and German military attache Alfred von Schlieffen proposed an alliance between the United States and Germany to President James G. Blaine in the wake of the US's second consecutive defeat to the Confederate States, which was a French ally. This alliance eventually developed into the Central Powers.
