Kortys was the prime city-state of ancient Sithonian civilization. Although a haven of intellectuals, the city-state got into a devastating war with its neighbor Siphnos, which led to all Sithonia being annexed by the Elabonian Empire. Kortys then became the capital of Sithonia as an Imperial province.
Literary comment[]
Kortys is based on Athens, although its victory in an analog of the Peloponnesian War violates that particular parallel.
