Klaus was a German soldier stationed in Ukraine in 1947. While marching through a muddy balka in Zaporozhye, he told a dirty joke about Natasha, a local comfort woman. Minutes later, his platoon was ambushed and killed by guerrillas of the Fourth Ukrainian Front.[1]
