Kibbutz Nair Tamid was a community farm located just outside of Tel Aviv, Israel. It was run by Orthodox Jews, including the Avigad family.

Rosie, a red heifer with special theological significance, was purchased from an Arkansas farm and brought halfway around the world to live at the Kibbutz, in preparation to be sacrificed in a way that was pleasing to God.

Following the dirty bomb attack on Tel Aviv, the Kibbutz was evacuated as a precaution, lest fallout from the bombing drift over to it and endanger the inhabitants.
