"Junior and Me" is a short story by Harry Turtledove, published in Straight Outta Dodge City (Baen, edited by David Boop, February, 2020) [1] and reprinted in the collection The Best of Harry Turtledove (2021). It is a prequel to "Bonehunters", telling the story of how Rekek came to adopt his son "Junior"; this story was written first, but it was published chronologically last. Turtledove has also stated that this is the last story in the world of the Chicxulub Asteroid Missed Stories for the foreseeable future, but has not ruled out a return.[1]

Straight Outta Dodge City is one of a series of anthologies published by Baen and edited by Boop, featuring stories of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, which use traditional settings for Wild West melodrama. The previous two entries in the series were Straight Outta Tombstone (2018) and Straight Outta Deadwood (2019), neither of which involved Turtledove.
