Jerry Voorhis in Southern Victory[]
Jerry Voorhis was a Socialist politician from California. He served as ambassador to the Confederate States under President Al Smith. On June 21, 1941, it fell to Voorhis to tell Confederate President Jake Featherston that President Smith had refused Featherston's ultimata demanding a complete US withdrawal from former Confederate territory ceded to the US after the Great War. Featherston declared Voorhis persona non grata, and the next day, the Second Great War began.[1]
