Iona Timofeevich Nikitchenko (28 June 1895 - 22 April 1967) was a Major General in the Red Army, and the chief Soviet judge at the Nuremberg Trials of Nazi war criminals. Nikitchenko did not have any formal training in the law.
Iona Nikitchenko (1895-1945) was killed when the German Freedom Front blew up the Palace of Justice in Nuremberg in November 1945, on the morning war crimes trials were set to begin against several prominent Nazi leaders.[1]
