Hyssaldomos was a Karianslave owned by Himilkon. In 310 BC, at his master's command, Hyssaldomos presented a peacock to traders Menedemos and Sostratos. Hyssaldomos protested when Himilkon commanded him to let the peacock out of its cage, whining that he would have to be the one to herd it back into the cage. Himilkon overrode him, and Hyssaldomos let the bird loose. He and the traders then chased the bird around the market until they were able to catch it. After returning the peacock to its cage, Hyssaldomos begged Himilkon not to let it out again soon.
