The Hound Dog was the principal fighter of the Confederate States Army Air Corps used in the Second Great War. Hound Dogs were roughly on a par with the United States Army's Wright-27 fighter, being more maneuverable while having an inferior climbing and diving speed.[1]
By 1944, the Hound Dog had a newer, more powerful engine that injected wood alcohol into the cylinders for a boost of additional horsepower. Even these improved fighters did not match up well to the U.S. Screaming Eagle, however.[2] The Hound Dog was also adapted for use as a fighter-bomber, in the same vein as U.S. Wright-27s.
