The High King was the title of the ruler of the Western Realm, and supreme human servant of the Light. When his castle at Lerellim was invaded, he fought the forces of the Dark Brother to the death, despite High Captain Valsak's effort to capture him alive. Upon the High King's death, the Dark Brother took his place as ruler of the world.
