Harris Moffatt I was President of the United States at the time of the Krolp's arrival on Earth. He became Prime Minister of Canada when the two countries merged in the face of the Krolpish threat. The union did no good, as both countries were overrun in almost their entirety. Moffatt was barely able to flee Washington, DC, ensuring that the U.S. would still be a going concern in some form.
The presidency became a hereditary office with Moffatt. His son, Harris Moffatt II, succeeded his father, and negotiated a treaty with the Krolp which allowed for rump U.S. and Canada situated around the Rocky Mountains and the Wasatch Range. His grandson, Harris Moffatt III, launched one last uprising which saw the end of that last bit of independence of the US and Canada.
