"Gorgopotamos Bridge"[1] is a short story by Harry Turtledove, first published Combat Monsters: Untold Tales of World War II (Blackstone Publishing, Henry Herz, ed.) in February 2025. It features Conrad Nomikos, the primary character of Roger Zelazny's This Immortal. Operating under the name "Konstantin Karaghiosis", Conrad participates in the Greco-British mission to destroy Gorgopotamos Bridge in occupied Greece on November 25, 1942 along with Eddie Myers, Chris Woodhouse, Napoleon Zarvas, and Aris Velouchiotis. In keeping with the theme of the collection, Karaghiosis and his comrades discover the Germans have placed a troll under the bridge.
