The Gilded Peasant (or perhaps it was the Gilded Pheasant) was a bar and restaurant in Sirap. Baek Jarns went there at times during his stay in Sirap and drink with his fellow expatriates. During one such trip, he was escorted by a prostitute named Jajett, who immediately got into a fight with the daughter of the owner establishment. Baek sat down with three of his friends, Ett Brashli, Obert Ohn, and Kime Kelbam, and, after idle chatter, the four decided to go to Amblona to see the running of the bulls.
