Ghent is a city and a municipality located in the Flemish region of Belgium. It is the capital and biggest city of the East Flanders province. It was here that a treaty was signed in 1814 by the United States and the United Kingdom to end the War of 1812.

It was between Bruges and Ghent that a German turbo shot down a British bomber carrying a superbomb intended for German soil in 1944.
