Cedric Montgomery Durst (August 23, 1896 – February 16, 1971) was an outfielder in Major League Baseball who played for the St. Louis Browns (1922–23, 1926), New York Yankees (1927–30) and Boston Red Sox (1930). Listed at 5' 11", 160 lb., Durst batted and threw left-handed.
Cedric Durst was manager of the San Diego Padres in 1942. In a game at Lane Field against the Sacramento Solons, he came out and angrily yelled at the umpire who had declared out a player attempting to steal a base. It soon became clear that Durst didn't have a chance in hell of getting the ump to change his mind, and that Durst knew it.[1]
