The action at Fat Mama is based on the [[American Civil War]] Battle of Adairsville, [[Georgia (state)|Georgia]], which is alternately known as the Battle of Cassville. The name "Fat Mama" is an allusion to the entertainer Mama Cass Elliot (1941-1974).
