Duthil was a village in Cimmeria. Mordec the blacksmith and Balarg the weaver were considered its two leading citizens. During the Aquilonian invasion, the fortress of Venarium was established nearby. Count Stercus, governor of Venarium, attempted to take Balarg's daughter Tarla to be his sex slave. During Stercus' abduction of Tarla, he killed a young boy named Wirp. This touched off a revolt among Duthil's people, which was folded into a general uprising across Cimmeria. Duthil was razed during this conflict, but many of its fighting men survived, including Mordec's son Conan.
