When the Soviet Unionintervened in Afghanistan's civil war in the early 1980s, the dragon's dreams were soon disturbed by the fighting. The Soviets took Bulola during the fighting. When Mujahideen fighters sought to retake Bulola, the terrible battle fully awakened the dragon. When Soviet forces attacked the dragon, it incinerated the entire garrison.
