Dodge City is the county seat of Ford County, Kansas, United States, named after nearby Fort Dodge. The city is famous in American culture for its history as a wild frontier town of the Old West, and as the origin of the phrase "get out of Dodge"[1]. As of the 2010 census, its population was 27,340.

Rekek had resided in Dodge City until Sssue, the dancing girl he was sweet on, made it clear that she did not want him. Once he realized that nothing he did would win her love, he got out of Dodge, and headed towards the Red River bottoms.[2]
