Football Club Dynamo Kyiv (Ukrainian: Футбольний клуб «Динамо» Київ, Dinamo Kyiv) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Kyiv. It was founded in 1927 as part of the Soviet Dynamo Sports Society.
Dinamo Kyiv in The Hot War[]
In August 1952, Polotsk hosted a football match between Dinamo Kiev and Lokomotiv Moscow. Dinamo Kiev won. As he listened to this news on Radio Moscow, Boris Gribkov privately noted the two teams had to play in the provincial town because their respective homes had been obliterated during World War III.[1]
