Diana Blanche Barrymore Blythe (March 3, 1921 – January 25, 1960), known professionally as Diana Barrymore, was an American film and stage actress. She was the estranged daughter of legendary actor John Barrymore. Diana Barrymore's film career was less than three years, and her career was ended by her struggles with addiction and mental health. Her post-Hollywood career was marked by tragedy. She was married three times; she was divorced from her first two husbands, and her third died of a heart attack five years before her own death. Barrymore's 1960 death is attributed to drug overdose, but the autopsy was inconclusive as to actual cause.

Diana Barrymore in Or Even Eagle Flew[]

Diana Barrymore played Robert Stack's love-interest in the 1942 film Eagle Squadron. When she saw the film, Flight Officer Amelia Earhart found Barrymore's character to be improbably beautiful, improbably patient, and improbably stupid.[1]
