David Anielewicz (b. 1950) was the middle child of Mordechai and Bertha Anielewicz. Miriam was his older sister and Heinrich was his younger brother. In the early 1960s, the family lived in Lodz.
David's younger brother Heinrich had a fondness for animals, adopting a beffel which had arrived with the Race's Colonization Fleet, and naming it Pancer (Tank). This childish decision saved the family when Pancer warned them of a fire, which had been set in their apartment by the NKVD assassin David Nussboym.
