Dakotah Ng was a real estate lawyer before she entered politics, becoming Governor of Washington. In 2031, Ng joined with Governors Nicole Yoshida of California and Axel Lysbakken of Oregon to declare the founding of the new nation of Pacifica.[1] She possessed a sardonic wit.
A former real estate attorney, Ng was probably the firmest in her support for the Pacifica plan, even more than Yoshida.[2] Yoshida frequently consulted Ng and Lysbakken as Pacifica took shape.[3][4]
Yoshida told Lysbakken and Ng about the material Patrick O'Donnell had provided, proving Pence Administration was a wholly owned subsidiary of Russia. Both knew to gear up for war,[5] but Russia's recognition of Pacifica saved the day.
Literary Comment[]
Ng is not mentioned in the second Pacifica story, James Morrow's "The Purloined Republic," but is fleetingly referenced in the third story, Cat Rambo's "Because it is Bitter," which is set in 2040. The context[6] suggests that Ng became vice president and/or president of Pacifica at some point, but does not make this clear.
