CrescentCity

Crescent City (Chetco-Tolowa: Taa-’at-dvn, Yurok: Kohpey, Wiyot: Daluwagh) is the county seat of, and the only incorporated city in, Del Norte County, California. The city is located on the Pacific coast in the upper northwestern part of California, about 20 miles (32 km) south of the Oregon border. Due to the richness of the local Pacific Ocean waters and the related catch, and ease of access, Crescent City Harbor serves as home port for numerous commercial fishing vessels.

Crescent City in State of Jefferson[]

Crescent City was a town in the State of Jefferson, located north of the the mouth of the Klamath River. In 1980, Karuk Indians who fished out of Crescent City and Requa realized that the merfolk who lived along the coast were taking salmon at an alarming rate, depleting the salmon's numbers before they could swim up the Klamath to spawn.[1]
