Constans was the twelfth Count of Sirmion. As had been the case with his eleven predecessors, he was killed by a vampire. However, Constan's death was somewhat different. While previous counts had been taken in old age and died a relatively easy death, Constans' death came while he was in the garderobe during a feast he was giving for his neighbors. The dried out husk of his corpse was discovered by the scholar Valerian and the drunken Baron of Rashka, who actually kicked in the garderobe's door. While Valerian expressed that the discovery was unfortunate, Rashka merely said "Scratch another one!" Constans' public and humiliating end prompted his son Manes to unsuccessfully seek revenge.[1]
