Claudius Appellinus was a Roman governor of Britannia Inferior during the reign of Severus Alexander (AD 222-235). His name is inscribed on a marker for the repair of a ballistarium at Bremenium, today High Rochester, Northumberland, England. Otherwise, all other details about his life appear to be lost.
Claudius Appelinus in "Merchants of Discord"[]
Claudius Appelinus was the prefect of Brocolitia along the Wall in Britannia. He relied heavily on his first decurion, Quintus Vestinus Corvus, and gave Corvus free rein to discharge his duties. This included the investigation into the murder of the merchant Secundinius.[1]
