Catherine (Kate) Eddowes (14 April 1842 - 30 September 1888) was the fourth victim of the notorious unidentified serial killer "Jack the Ripper" who killed and mutilated prostitutes in the Whitechapel area of London, killed on the night of the "Double Event" (Sunday, 30 September, 1888) that had seen the murder of Elizabeth Stride less than an hour earlier. She was the only victim killed within the City of London, though close to the boundary of Whitechapel.
Catherine Eddowes was the victim of a vampire named Jack. A group of vampires named the Sanguine Club pursued Jack for most of the autumn of 1888, fearing that his crimes would reveal to the world the existence of vampires. They came very close catching Jack after the Eddowes murder, but missed him by a few minutes.
