There's more to the story but I've hit all the main points. I'll flesh out some of the details later.

I'm enjoying being the one who's read the short story, for a change. Turtle Fan 20:27, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Hey, TR any reason you consider this a vampire story? ML4E 19:44, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

It could have gone either way. Apparently vampires had their own little country in the story. I haven't read it, so I figured better to be safe. TR 19:48, November 18, 2009 (UTC)
Each region of Europe and the Middle East sees its inhabitants replaced with a species of creature from their own mythologies. In the Slavic regions, that means vampires. A second group of centaurs makes contact with them while looking for undiscovered tin deposits in Southeastern Europe. They don't make much of a splash in the story, but they're there, or at least they appear offstage. Turtle Fan 19:54, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

My mistake. I based my question on the story discription and didn't notice the vampire article within the category. TF, is this really enough to call the story a "Vampire Story" or is the category considered broad enough to include any story that mentions vampires? ML4E 20:06, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

We're talking about one reference to an offstage event that makes up a very secondary part of the report the one centaur is giving the other. I don't know how liberally we want to set the criterion for a "vampire" story, but unless we're saying "any story that contains vampires," this is going to be a tough sell. 5 characters[]

"Short stories that have more than five characters should have their own categories." There are 5 characters here, counting Scylla and Charybdis as a single character.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 06:31, June 26, 2016 (UTC)

Doing so would be problematic, as they're treated as more of a natural phenomenon. However, we could probably shake a couple more characters loose on a reread, if anyone has a copy handy. Turtle Fan (talk) 07:41, June 26, 2016 (UTC)
There are three more named main characters I've added. There is also enough for a Centaurs category, as it seems that Thessalonica also has centaurs in it.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 08:33, September 9, 2016 (UTC)
Feel free to create THoB characters page. If we have 3 centaurs already, go ahead and create that category, too. TR (talk) 15:51, September 9, 2016 (UTC)
I don't know how to create cats.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 06:01, September 10, 2016 (UTC)
Cats reproduce the same way people do. Put a male in a room with a female in heat and they'll take care of it on their own. Turtle Fan (talk) 07:18, September 10, 2016 (UTC)
