British Empire[]

This covers the various parts of the British Empire. I have left out those countries and regions that make up China and the Ottoman Empire as they are "protectorates" rather than formal parts of the Empire. Perhaps they should be included?

My research of the term suggests protectorates counted as territories within the empire. They just weren't annexed. TR (talk) 22:10, April 22, 2018 (UTC)
Jonathan, please comment here before you start changing categorizations. Discussion is NOT compete. ML4E (talk) 18:22, April 25, 2018 (UTC)
As a minimum, you should have said that you agreed and that if there were no objections, you would carry out the changes in a couple of days. As it happens, it has subsequently occurred to me that we might want to create two sub-cats: "Chines Protectorate" and "Ottoman Protectorate" for the two protectorates. They may need the "(The Two Georges)" extension for clarity. Or not. ML4E (talk) 20:43, April 25, 2018 (UTC)

Incidentally, for purposes of ordering categories, I have deliberately ordered on "Two Georges" rather than "British Empire" so the position hasn't changed. That seems more reasonable, given what the category represents.

Other Empires[]

Since we already have "Holy Alliance" as a cat, should I do "Russian Empire (The Two Georges)" as a cat as well for completeness? This would be the smallest of the three cats since Russia is so big by itself but it would put the components of the last of the "Big Three" in its own sub-cat. I don't know. I almost feel like that if we do that, we should also throw in the Portuguese Empire, the Danish Empire, etc. I guess I'll go with the majority. TR (talk) 22:10, April 22, 2018 (UTC)
It would probably not be a good idea. With a minor exception here and there, all those empires comprise the territory they used to have in OTL. With the BE and HA, the authors mixed and matched in creative ways.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 03:53, April 23, 2018 (UTC)
